As a division of Devereux Center for Resilient Children (DCRC) our early childhood team strives to conduct research to provide the evidence base for our resources, advance the state of knowledge in our field, and to provide information that will contribute to advocacy efforts for young children’s social and emotional health.

The Devereux Early Childhood Assessment – Preschool, Second Edition (DECA-P2) is a nationally standardized, norm-referenced, reliable and valid assessment tool that measures 3 within-child protective factors and screens for behavior concerns in children 3 through 5 years old.  The tool meets or exceeds professional standards.

The Devereux Early Childhood Assessment Clinical Form (DECA-C) is a nationally standardized, norm-referenced, reliable and valid behavior rating scale for preschoolers ages 2 through 5 with social emotional problems or significant behavioral concerns. The DECA-C measures 3 protective factor scales and 4 behavioral concerns scales and must be interpreted by a behavioral healthcare or special education professional.
