In Memory of Bud Taylor

The Devereux Center for Resilient Children lost a great friend and supporter last August with the passing of John (Bud) Taylor. During his many years of service on Devereux’s National Board of Trustees, Mr. Taylor was a steadfast champion for DCRC and our mission. Perhaps because he was the father of an individual with special needs, he understood the importance of seeking out, celebrating, and nurturing the strengths of all children regardless of their circumstances.  He also had a keen interest in supporting the resilience of adult caregivers, both parents and professionals, as evidenced by his urging Devereux to sponsor our annual Family Resilience Conference and generously endowing it so that we could offer it free of charge to every interested family. On a more personal level, Bud was always a source of sage advice and encouragement to me and other staff at DCRC. Bud was a true gentleman who used his many talents to benefit others and enrich their lives.  He will not only be missed, but also remembered as a leader and friend who helped shape our mission and our lives.
