In Loving Memory of Bunny Walters

In the month of September our Devereux Center for Resilient Children (DCRC) family lost a dear friend and colleague, Bunny Walters.  Bunny lived in Washington State and for many years was the Early Learning Manager at the United Way of Snohomish County.  Bunny was a champion for children and a passionate advocate for building resilience in them.  For eight years Bunny was a consultant and national certified trainer for DCRC.  As a certified trainer Bunny traveled the country on our behalf delivering trainings about the DECA Program, resilience and the FLIP IT strategy.  Some of our fondest memories of Bunny came from a week long experience many of our DCRC staff and certified trainers lovingly refer to as “bootcamp.”  This week was full of learning, hard work and fun and Bunny was a source of strength, humor and commitment through it all.  The early childhood world and all those who knew her will miss her dearly.
